
Equistone makes new hire and seven promotions

Mid-market investor Equistone has promoted Andi Tomkinson to partner in its Manchester office, has appointed Philipp Gauß as associate in Munich and has promoted six more across its offices in France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.
As partner, Tomkinson will conduct investments and portfolio management duties in the North of England. Tomkins currently sits on the boards of several Equistone portfolio companies, including polymer designer and manufacturer Nylacast, mobile telecoms services provider WHP Telecoms, and static holiday homes manufacturer Willerby.
Tomkinson joined Equistone as an investment director in 2012 and assisted in the formation and development of Concept Life Sciences as well as in the exits of AFI-Uplift and PD&MS. He joined from PwC where he qualified as a chartered accountant and worked in the corporate finance department.
Gauß joins as associate in Equistone's investment team in Munich. Prior to joining, Gauß worked as a project manager for the strategy consultancy Stern Stewart & Co and gained a master's degree in management from the University of Mannheim.

Meanwhile, the GP promoted Richard Briault and Tristan Manuel in London, and Florent Rostaing in Paris, all to the position of investment director. Further promotions include Tanja Berg and Moritz Treude in Munich and Roman E Hegglin in Zurich, all to the role of investment manager.
Equistone plans to continue to grow its portfolio and deploy capital from the €2.8bn Equistone Partners Europe Fund VI.
