Altor launches DACH office
Sweden-based buyout firm Altor Equity Partners has opened an office in Zurich, Switzerland.
Those who have joined the Zurich office include Klas Johansson, a partner who has been at Altor since 2008; Giovanna Maag, who joined from 3i as a partner; and Benjamin Eisert, who joined from Bain & Company as an associate last year.
This is the firm's first office in the DACH region. It currently operates offices in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Helsinki and St. Helier. Altor launched a buy-and-build strategy in the German dental sector with KonfiDents in May 2018.
Altor recently closed its fifth fund, Altor Fund V, on its hard-cap of €2.5bn. The fund will invest in the Nordic region but will also focus on opportunities in the DACH region.
Simultaneously with the fund close announcement, Altor reported total returns since inception in 2003, with overall gross IRR of 26%. Realised total returns have generated a gross IRR of 35% and a money multiple of 3.7x.
