Verdane opens Berlin office
Verdane Capital Partners has announced that it is opening an office in Berlin, expanding on its northern European coverage and with a view to increase its activities in Germany.
Partner Staffan Mörndal has moved to Berlin for one year to head the establishment of the new office.
Principal Maroje Guertl, who joined the firm this year following experience at Oriol Management Advisors and Bain & Company, will also lead the new office.
The team will include associate Simon Betzler, who joined Verdane from Deloitte Digital Ventures in July 2019. Hendrik Wildhagen, currently of GCA Altium, will join the team later this month.
Norwegian GP Verdane has made nine investments in Germany since 2016. It aims to continue investing in consumer internet and software companies in the German market.
The firm recently invested in Germany with the acquisition of a majority stake in second-hand sales platform Momox in October, for which it deployed capital from Verdane Capital X.
