Penta Investments opens Munich office
Penta Investments has opened an office in Munich and appointed Thomas von Werner as country managing director.
The Munich office is Penta's first venture in Germany and marks the beginning of the firm's increased activity drive in the region. The GP will focus mainly on succession solutions in the German Mittelstand as well as corporate spin-offs.
Penta's latest investments in Germany include pet food products manufacturer Gimborn, which it acquired from Capiton in 2008, and machines manufacturer Gehring Group, which it bought in 2012.
Von Werner joins Penta from EQT where he had worked as senior director for seven years. Before EQT, von Werner was managing director and partner at Odewald & Compagnie in Berlin. He began his career at Bain & Company in Munich.
Penta is a European private equity house founded in 1994 that now has €4.7bn in assets under management. The firm has offices in Prague, Bratislava, Warsaw and Munich.
