Triton makes takeover offer for Karstadt
Triton has made a takeover offer for insolvent department store chain Karstadt.
Karstadt is currently being administered by Klaus Hubert Görg. Its creditor are said to be meeting over the weekend to examine the offer.
Sources indicate Goldman Sachs, one of Karstadt's creditors, may take over the company and combine it with Kaufhof, another department store chain which is being sold by Metro. Karstadt has 120 department stores and 25,000 employees.
