Holtzbrinck hires new managing partner
German venture capital firm Holtzbrinck Ventures has hired Christian Saller as managing partner.
Saller started working for the German VC on July 1.
This is the third time that Holtzbrinck has hired a new partner. The general partners and co-founders Martin Weber, Lars Langush, Christoph Jung and Sven Achter have all been with the firm since 2000, while David Kuczek was hired in 2006 and Rainer Maerkle in 2008.
Prior to joining Holtzbrinck, since 2008 Saller had been working as CEO of swoodoo, an online search engine for flights. The firm was then sold to US company Kayak, which Saller joined as managing director for Europe.
From 2006 to 2008, Saller was CFO at Giga Digital Television, after a stint as COO at Betty TV.
Saller also worked as investment manager at Target Partners from 2002 to 2005.
Saller holds an MBA from the London Business School and a PhD in mathematics from the Technical University in Munich.
