Venture-backed Definiens sells assets to listed Trimble
Venture-backed Trimble Definiens has been acquired by Nasdaq-listed Trimble in an all-cash transaction.
Trimble acquired the Earth Sciences business assets and licensing of its software technology platform from venture-backed Definiens.
Image analysis solutions provider Definiens is a portfolio company of Daimler Chrysler Venture, LBBW Venture Capital and TVM Capital. Definiens' Earth Sciences business includes eCognition® software, an image analysis software suite for geospatial applications that facilitates geo-information extraction from remote sensing imagery. The company is headquartered in Munich and has offices in the US.
