
Warburg seeks buyer for easycash
Reports indicate that Warburg Pincus has hired UBS to find buyers for credit cards payment processing company easycash. The sale may generate as much as EUR300m. Warburg Pincus acquired the company in 2006 from First Data International (January 2007, page 35).
Ratingen-based easycash GmbH offers customised card-based payment solutions and credit card routing to a broad range of merchant customers. In 2008, the company had 80,000 customers and handled a volume of 864 million payment transactions, of which 333 million were electronic cash and maestro payments. The company operates 190,000 active terminals and has 360 employees. The company was founded in 1992 as part of Mannesmann.
