Consortium sell stake in Cognis
Permira, Goldman Sachs Capital Partners and SVG Capital have sold their stakes in Cognis to BASF.
The transaction is subject to normal closing conditions and is expected to be formally completed by November 2010. Cognis is a supplier of specialty chemicals and nutritional ingredients. The company recorded a turnover of €2.6bn and an adjusted EBITDA of €364m in 2009. It employs about 5,500 and has an enterprise value of €3.1bn.
