General Atlantic opens new Munich office
General Atlantic has moved its German operations from Düsseldorf to Munich.
The new office will be headed by principal Jörn Nikolay. He will report to John Bernstein, General Atlantic's head of European operations.
In March 2012, General Atlantic engaged in a joint venture with German publishing house Axel Springer, creating Axel Springer Digital Classifieds, worth €1.25bn.
Other recent European investments include a minority buyout of UK investment services firm FNZ and the acquisition of a minority stake in Turkish food ordering portal Yemeksepeti.com.
Besides the new office in Munich, General Atlantic operates an office in London, three offices in the US, four in Asia and one in Latin America.
