Orlando buys Innight from TNT Express
Orlando Management has acquired overnight distribution subsidiary TNT Innight from TNT Express.
The spin-out follows Fedex's acquisition of TNT for €4.4bn, which was approved by competition authorities earlier this year. TNT stated the sale is part of its strategy to concentrate on its core express delivery activities. The business was sold via an auction process and is a mixed asset and share deal.
Orlando made the acquisition via its fund Special Situation Venture Partners III, which closed €31m over target on €231m in March 2012.
The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2016.
Company
Innight provides night-time distribution services in Europe to companies in sectors such as automotive, agriculture and engineering machinery. Because of the specificity of its service, Innight manages its own distribution network, distinct from that of TNT Express. It employs around 1,300 people across 40 facilities in northern and central Europe.
