Emeram buys Meona and E.care

Munich-based Emeram Capital Partners has acquired and merged two clinical software companies, Freiburg-based Meona and Turnhout-based E.care.

Emeram drew equity from its €350m buyout vehicle, Emeram Fond I. It generally makes equity investments of €20-50m in transactions with an enterprise value of €30-250m.

The new company will be jointly led by the management teams of Meona and E.care under the leadership of Meona's Tobias Schäfer.

Schäfer said E.care's emergency room process management software will strengthen and complement Meona's prescription and diagnostics platform.

Debt for the transaction was arranged by Raiffeisenlandesbank NÖ-Wien.

Company
Meona was founded by Tobias Schäfer and Matthias Wuttke in 2008. It is a clinical software provider based in Freiburg, Germany.

E.care was founded in 2000 and is based in Turnhout, Belgium. It makes software for emergency rooms and operating procedures. It reported an operating profit of €924,000 for 2016.
