Capiton buys Ispin
Berlin-based buyout firm Capiton has acquired a majority stake in the management buyout of Swiss cybersecurity firm Ispin.
Ispin's co-founders, Marco Marchesi and Stefan Napflin, and the management team also invested in the new company.
Capiton drew equity for the acquisition from its €440m fund, Capiton V. The GP plans to use Ispin as a platform for a buy-and-build strategy in the DACH region's cybersecurity market.
Ispin's Marchesi told Swiss trade publication Inside Channels that the cybersecurity market in the region is growing fast but is still very fragmented, creating opportunities for consolidation. Marchesi added that the company is already in discussion with potential acquisition targets.
Company
Ispin was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Zurich. The company offers advisory and consulting services, as well as installation and maintenance of cybersecurity systems. It currently employs 80 people.
