Alpina sells Dolan to Dralon
Alpina Partners and co-investor Jan Verdenhalven have sold Dolan Holding to acrylic fibre producer Dralon.
The sale ends a holding period of three years for Alpina, which acquired the company in a double acquisition of Dolan and European Carbon Fiber (ECF). It divested ECF in November 2017 in a trade sale to Solvay.
The divestment came from Alpina Partners Fund (formerly Green Growth Fund 2), a growth equity and buyout fund that held a final close on €140m against a €200m target in January 2016.
Dralon said the deal would strengthen its position as acrylic fibre supplier in the region and expand its product range.
Company
Founded in 1960, Dolan produces speciality fibres for textiles, convertible car tops, sunshades, garden furniture and protective clothing. It has 101 employees and generated revenues of €59.2m in 2015.
