Finatem buys GfS
German buyout firm Finatem Beteiligungsgesellschaft has wholly acquired infrastructure service Gesellschaft für Straßenunterhaltung (GfS).
It is the fourth investment Finatem has made in 2018, after its acquisitions of Gothaer Fahrzeugtechnik in May and HKM Sports Equipment and Mungo Befestigungstechnik in April. It is the sixth deal made from its latest buyout fund, Finatem IV, which held a final close on €150m in December 2014.
It is also the second investment from Finatem IV in the infrastructure services sector following the acquisition of Schollenberger Group in December 2016.
Finatem stated that GfS and other infrastructure services would benefit from the German government's Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan 2030, as well as other infrastructure programmes, such as the Bridge Modernization Program.
