DPE sells Expertum to trade
Deutsche Private Equity (DPE) has sold HR software company Expertum to Belgian trade buyer Asap HR Group.
The sale ends a holding period of nine years for DPE, which founded the company in partnership with the management team in 2010.
It used capital from the €250m Parcom Deutschland I fund to set up the business and acquire competitor Sonesto in December 2010.
Sonesto generated turnover of €30m at the time of DPE's original acquisition. Expertum now expects turnover of €90m for 2018.
DPE supported the group's organic and acquisitive growth during the holding period, operating under the Expertum brand since 2013. It has increased the number of offices from five in 2010 to 43 in 2018 and now employs 180 people.
Asap said it was attracted to Expertum's corporate culture and clear long-term vision.
Previous funding
DPE acquired Sonesto through the holding company that would become Expertum in December 2010 in an all-equity transaction. DPE was introduced to Sonesto by Carsten Frede of HCF Hanse Corporate Finance, which is part of the DPE network.
Company
Expertum is a temporary staffing firm headquartered in Hamburg. It offers temporary staffing and recruiting services for industrial, technical and commercial roles in sectors including energy, engineering, IT, aviation, healthcare, finance and administration.
