
Gimv invests in Medi-Markt
Gimv has invested in the majority takeover of two German medical supplies companies, Medi-Mark Homecare-Service and Medi Markt Service Nord Ost.
Following the deal, the companies will operate jointly under the Medi-Markt brand, which will be headquartered in Mannheim.
Medi-Markt will employ 225 people, serve 150,000 customers and generate an annual turnover of €50m.
Markus Reichel, former managing director of Medi-Markt Homecare-Service, will become managing director and co-shareholder in the new group.
It is the third German deal Gimv has completed this year, since opening a new office and expanding its investment team in Munich.

Medi-Mark Homecare-Service is headquartered in Mannheim and Medi Markt Service Nord Ost is headquartered in Isenbüttel. Both companies specialise in mail-order medical supplies for conditions such as revulsive incontinence and diabetes. Most of its products are reimbursed for through health insurance.
