
Alpina Capital buys software specialist Orsoft
Alpina Capital Partners has wholly acquired German software specialist Orsoft from the company's founders.
Orsoft's founder, Winfried Janicke, will step down as CEO and join the company's advisory board, while the existing management team will stay on with the business and will be joined by Christian von Stengel as managing director.
Company
Founded in 1990 as a university project spin-out and based in Leipzig, Orsoft specialises in developing advanced planning and scheduling and supply chain management software, as well as master data management and specific applications for the healthcare sector.
The company employs 90 people and has completed 500 projects in various industries, including pharmaceuticals, food, beverages, chemicals, industrial manufacturing and the automotive sector.
