
VCs exit Greenergetic
Gründerfonds Bielefeld-Ostwestfalen (GBO), renewable energy developer Howaldt Energies and venture capital investor eCapital have sold their stakes in Greenergetic to Innogy.
Germany-based energy company Innogy, which is a subsidiary of RWE, wholly acquired the company.
Previous funding
GBO and renewable energy developer Howaldt Energies completed a series-A funding round for a minority stake in the company in 2012, and joined forces again for another round of financing for the company in 2013.
In 2014, eCapital invested in the company.
RWE Vertrieb, a sales affiliate of RWE, acquired a minority interest in Greenergetic in 2015.
In 2016, eCapital led a venture round for the company, with participation from RWE.
Company
Founded in 2012 and based in Cologne, the company has more than 40 employees. Greenergetic has created an online portal that enables energy suppliers to offer their end customers photovoltaic systems and battery storage without their own staff. All services such as telesales, project management, purchasing, logistics and installation can be provided by Greenergetic. The company claims to have more than 60 energy suppliers as customers in Germany and the Netherlands.
