Aurelius-backed Office Depot Europe sells CEE business
Office Depot Europe, an Aurelius portfolio company, has sold its CEE operations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia to corporate buyer PBS Holding for an undisclosed amount.
Aurelius will retain the company's remaining European operations.
Following the sale, the company plans to consolidate its focus on its operations in other European regions. Under the GP's ownership, the group has previously increased investment in its e-commerce activities.
PBS is an Austrian distributor of office supplies and stationery. The group already operates in Austria, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Italy, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Aurelius acquired a majority stake in Office Depot Europe from US parent company Office Depot in September 2016.

Office Depot Europe is based in Limburg, the Netherlands. Originally, Office Depot was established in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, expanding to Europe via Office Depot Europe in 1990.
The company has two main brands: Office Depot and Viking. The group has retail outlets in France and Sweden, and operates in 30 European countries, employing 6,000 staff.
