Nimbus acquires Dresselhaus
Nimbus has acquired Germany-based fasteners and fixings manufacturer Dresselhaus.
The acquisition was made as part of a succession plan for the family-owned company, according to a statement. Jürgen Nordhus will remain in his role as managing director of Dresselhaus.
A source familiar with the situation told Unquote that the enterprise value was €50-100m. The same source said that the deal was done via a newco and that Nimbus acquired 100% of the shares in the business.
The sale was conducted as a competitive auction process. The same source told Unquote that the company began looking for a buyer in the second half of 2019 and that the deal was signed in December 2019. The process saw interest from other PE buyers and strategic buyers.
The same source told Unquote that the GP intends to modernise the company's processes and make the business more efficient. The source said that add-on acquisitions were not contemplated in the short-term but could be considered in future.
