
Pinova, eCapital sell stakes in BrandMaker to Rubicon
Pinova Capital and eCapital have sold their stakes in Germany-based marketing software platform BrandMaker to Rubicon Technology Partners.
Rubicon specialises in investments in enterprise software companies, and will acquire a majority stake in BrandMaker. The GP aims to support BrandMaker's global growth, particularly in North America. The firm also intends to assist the business with product innovation and acquisition opportunities.
Previous funding
Baden-Württembergische Bank and Pinova invested €23m in BrandMaker in September 2014. BWB invested via its €500m L-EA SME Fund, while Pinova deployed equity via Pinova Fund I, which invests €3-15m in companies with revenues of €10-75m.
eCapital acquired a minority stake in BrandMaker in November 2016, investing via eCapital Fund IV, which held a final close in December 2017 on €100m. Managing partner Willi Mannheims subsequently joined BrandMaker's board.

Its software functions include budget and campaign planning, as well as content creation and distribution. The company serves more than 300 clients, including Daimler and Bayer. BrandMaker is headquartered in Karlsruhe and employs 162 staff, according to LinkedIn.
