Gyrus Principal Fund to close in Q2 2021
Geneva-headquartered Gyrus Capital expects to hold a final close for Gyrus Principal Fund on its hard-cap in Q2 2021, according to Gyrus managing partner Guy Semmens.
Semmens told Unquote that the fund was launched in Q1 2020 and held a first close in August 2020 in the €230-240m region.
The fund has a hard-cap of €400m and a target of €200m, according to Unquote Data.
Gyrus Principal Fund invests in companies with enterprise values of €30-300m, focusing on businesses operating in the fields of healthcare, technology and sustainability that benefit from long-term sustainable growth opportunities.
The vehicle is expected to be 38-40% deployed following its next platform investment, which is expected to be made in April 2021, Semmens said. Following this, the fund will have three platform investments.
The fund acquired LivaNova's heart valve business in December 2020 in a deal valued at around €60m, as reported.
