Finexx buys Volpini Verpackungen

The closing of the deal is expected in the coming weeks, Finexx said in a statement.

The sale took place via an auction process initiated by the seller and is part of a succession solution.

The GP is deploying equity via Finexx Fund II, which held a final close in October 2020 on €20m, as reported. Finexx said in a statement that it has now increased its fund volume to €30m via a separate fundraising process.

The fund makes equity investments of €5-20m, targeting family-backed SMEs in the DACH region with revenues of more than €10m. The vehicle intends to make three investments in total and Volpini is the fund's second platform investment.

The GP said in a statement that it considers Volpini to be well-positioned to benefit from trends in health-conscious food products, as well as the need for sustainable packaging.

Founded in 1811 and headquartered in Spittal an der Drau, Austria, Volpini produces sustainable packaging tubs and films, specialising in yogurt packaging and thermoforming sheets. The company generates revenues of €13m.
