VR exits Janz IT to ACP
VR Equitypartner has sold German IT system developer and IT services company Janz IT to ATP in a trade sale.
When VR acquired its 40% stake in 2002, Janz was an IT hardware distributor. The company has since changed its strategy to IT consulting and services.
During the GP's ownership, the company also strengthened its data storage business, entered the cloud-service business and hired additional staff. Janz acquired competitor Godyo in 2006 and Computer Dienst Jena in 2013.
Following the acquisition by ATP, Janz CEO Wilhelm Stute will leave his role and join ATP's board.

Founded in 1982 and based in Paderborn, Janz IT is an advisory and services company for IT infrastructure. The company employs 140 people and has additional sites in Hamburg, Hannover and Oldenburg. It had a turnover of €41m in 2014.
