Blackstone divests Deutsche Telekom stake
Blackstone has sold around 1.5% of its 4.5% stake in German telecommunications giant Deutsche Telekom AG for an estimated €561m, according to reports.
The firm is likely to have made a loss from the sale of the 65.2 million shares, resulting from a drop in the company's share price to €8.6. Blackstone bought its stake in the company for €2.68bn in 2006 when the share price was almost €14.
Deutsche Telekom's main shareholder is still the German government, which owns a 15% stake directly and a 17% stake indirectly through the KfW bank.
