Caisse d Epargne takes over CDC IXIS Asset Management
Reports in the European press have stated that Caisse d'Epargne is due to acquire CDC IXIS Asset Management in July 2004. The acquisition is in line with the bank's agreement last year with Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations to take ownership of CDC IXIS and Eulia. At present, the asset management operations of CDC is the group's fastest growing business and upon completion of the deal Caisse d'Epargne will be the third largest bank in France with EUR 18m of shareholders' equity, EUR 330bn of assets under management and 55,000 employees.
