Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec enters Rothschild's realm
The Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec has recently announced the investment of E55m in the share capital of La Compagnie Financière Edmond de Rothschild. The capital will contribute to the rapid development of the Paris branch of the LCF Rothschild Group, which specialises in asset management, M&A advice, private equity and insurance brokerage. The Paris branch manages assets worth about E20bn and has grown by about 20% a year since Benjamin de Rothschild became chairman in 1997. The Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec is a financial institution that manages funds primarily for public and private pension and insurance plans. As leading institutional fund manager in Canada, the Caisse invests in the main financial markets as well as in private equity and real estate.
