SJ Berwin
On 3 January, Colin Millar joined the Paris office of SJ Berwin to develop its legal banking and financial activities. Millar has been working in France since 1989, after achieving an MA in law and Bachelor of Civil Law at Oxford University. He began his career at Freshfields, before joining Simmons & Simmons in 1992, where he was nominated head of the financial department in 1994. Millar is solicitor at the Supreme Court of England and Wales and lawyer at the Cour de Paris. He is advisor to French and foreign banks, as well as to numerous financial institutions concerning buyout financing, syndication and structured financing. The Paris office of SJ Berwin was established in March 2001 and today houses 35 lawyers, ten of whom are partners.
