France Angels is founded and calls for formalisation of business angel investments
France Angels is a new business angel association, formed by André Jaunay (ex-InvestEssor) and Claude Rameau (an ex-member of Insead), which is calling for business angel investments to be formalised and is intending to carry out promotional and educational work. The association will be non-profit making and will seek to unite business angel networks and match-making services in its membership. Without performing a lobbying function, the organisation will gather information on investments from its members. Its first project will be to compile a business angel directory which will list business angel networks, match-makers, not-for-profit business angels associations and seed capital funds. Jaunay is even considering establishing a business angel training school to boost the professionalism of those acting in the capacity of business angel. The organisation will seek to increase the number of business angels in France, making more capital available for very small businesses.
