GMT Communications Partners announced on 6th December that it has appointed Ashley T M Long as Partner and Chief Financial Officer. Long was previously with Triton, the private equity fund dedicated to investments in Northern Europe, where he was a Principal and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Triton in 1998, Long was with Smith New Court PLC and then Merrill Lynch Europe PLC in London. Long is a qualified accountant and a Fellow of the Securities and Investment Institute in the UK. Long will be responsible for fund and portfolio company reporting and monitoring at GMT, as well as transaction support and operations. In addition, Ashley will be fully involved with the other Partners in considering prospective investment proposals.
