Hicks Muse (Europe) becomes Lion Capital
Hicks Muse (Europe) has recently announced the change of its name to Lion Capital. The name change finalises the firm's formal separation from US based Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst, which took place in January 2005. Lion Capital is owned entirely by its European partners and has a team of 12 investment professionals, all based in London. The firm will continue to be headed up by Lyndon Lea.Announcing the new name, Lea said, 'It is with great pleasure that I announce the formal change of our name to Lion Capital. This is the final step in the evolution of our private equity business to a fully independent, European firm. Lion Capital is well positioned to continue to build on the franchise that we have created over the past seven years in the European private equity market. Whilst our investment strategy remains unchanged under our new name, our independence will enhance our ability to focus on building value for our Limited Partners.'
