
Gonzague de Blignières becomes new
On 20 June 2005, AFIC elected Gonzague de Blignières as the new chairman of the French private equity association.Gonzague de Blignières began his career in 1979, working in the management team for Banque Nationale de Paris. After two years, he moved to Banexi and spent six years working at as an investment director. In 1987, de Blignières joined Charterhouse Associates, where he worked as a managing partner until 1992. From 1990-1992, he also acted as general manager at Médiale Investissement. He joined Barclays Private Equity France as general manager in 1992. Now he is chairman of the group and co-chairman of Barclays Private Equity Europe. De Blignières chairs the association Paris Entreprendre and became vice-chairman of AFIC in June 2004.Patrick Sayer, chairman of Eurazeo's supervisory board, has been nominated vice-chairman of the association.
