Rue Imperiale and Eurazeo present merger proposal
Reports in the press have stated that two of Lazard’s holding companies, Rue Impériale and Eurazeo, are to present a EUR 2.4bn merger proposal to streamline the shareholding structure of the group. The merger is expected to result in UBS and Vincent Bolloré gaining greater control in the merged entity while also going some way to facilitate Crédit Agricole’s concluding sale of its 23.6% stake in Rue Impériale. The proposed merger would ultimately reduce Crédit Agricole’s stake in the company to 15%.
