Quartilium clocks up six new invest
Quartilium, Finama Private Equity’s fund-of-funds team, has made six new commitments in private equity funds over the first half of 2005. Firstly, it has invested in Wind Point Partners VI, a $700m US buyout fund, focusing on management buy-ins. Secondly, it has committed to ECI 8, a £225m UK buyout fund targeting the lower mid-market segment. Thirdly, Quartilium has invested in Banexi Ventures IV, a EUR 130m French early-stage fund investing both in life sciences and information technology companies. Fourthly, it has invested in Capzanine, a EUR 150m French mezzanine fund, focusing mainly on the lower mid-market segment in France. The fund offers specific mixed mezzanine and equity financings, which are particularly suited to this market. Finally, the fund-of-funds has committed to two US funds: Insight Venture Partners V and Summit Partners VII. The former is a leading $675m expansion fund, focusing on the US software industry, while the latter is a $3bn growth capital fund.These six investments, made by Quartilium II and Quartilium Mezzanine, together with those expected in the latter part of the year, should total more EUR 150m.
