AFIC and Ernst & Young release report on social and economic weighting of private equity in France
AFIC and Ernst & Young have released a report on the economic and social weighting of private equity in France. The study outlines that on the strength of investments in 3,600 companies in France alone employing close to one million staff, the private equity industry counts as 6% of the private sector's total workforce and 60% of companies employing less than 100 employees. The report also highlights that the two main sectors of private equity investment are industrial companies and those providing business support services, with investments in each sector representing 31.4% and 28% of the total markets respectively in France. In addition, those companies financed by private equity funds denote 36% of total turnover and 60% of employees in the CAC 40 index.
