BNP Paribas reports half-year results
BNP Paribas has released its 2004 half-year results with profitability rising to an annualised ROE of 18.5% (up 4.5 points). The French bank also reported on sustained organic growth in all of its core businesses. Results for Q2 specifically included a gross operating income of EUR 1.9bn (up 7.2%) and an operating income of EUR 1.7bn (up 15.9%). Net results for BNP Paribas in Q2 2004 registered a rise of 49.9% to a record EUR 1.4bn, 'the largest rise in net results for a bank within the Euro zone,' commented Baudouin Prot, the bank's CEO.
