Business angels in Lyon go back to school
A new training scheme has been implemented for budding business angels keen to learn the rudiments of the profession. The scheme was devised by Lyon Angels, part of the France Angels franchise which was launched at the end of 2003 by the Chamber of Commerce, Anvar and the incubator Créalys. The one-day course recently took place at the Ecole des Business Angels at the Chamber of Commerce in Lyon. Around 20 hopefuls turned up to exchange ideas and to discover how to participate in funding rounds. The initiative is aimed at increasing the number of French business angels. Currently, there are only 1,500 high-net-worth individuals in France, compared to around 50,000 in the UK.
