Sportfive

Thomas Rabe has been appointed chairman of the board at Sportfive, concurrently working as chief financial officer. Rabe has assumed the position in succession to Jean-Claude Darmon, the companyÂ’s founder, who resigned from his position on 15 July 2004 following the acquisition of Sportfive by Advent International.

Rabe began his career working for the European Commission in Brussels before joining White & Case (then Forrester, Norall & Sutton) and subsequently working at Treuhandanstalt and Aventure Capital Fund in Berlin. In 1996, Rabe assumed the position of financial director at Cedel International before joining RTL Group as financial director. In 2003, he was made head of the corporate centre of RTL. Since 2001, Rabe has been a member of the board at Sportfive.
