Candover sets up French office
Christopher Spencer and Jean-Michel Coulot have been named as the two directors from Candover who are to run the firm’s new office in Paris. Coulot was recruited to the firm last year from the Paribas group, with the remit of originating deals in France. Candover has since completed the Euro 920m buyout of Picard Surgélés, which is the largest French deal to have been completed so far this year. Candover worked on the deal alongside its French partner, Chevrillon & Associés, and it will maintain this relationship, co-investing on more deals in the future.
At the new office, Coulot and Spencer have also been joined by Cyril Zivre. Spencer is also responsible for investments carried out by Candover in the Benelux and Germany.
