Doughty Hanson
Doughty Hanson has recently announced that it has appointed Lahlou Khélifi to develop its real estate activities in France. Khélifi, 42, will be based in Paris and will work closely with John Howard, chief operating officer of Doughty Hanson & Co Real Estate. Khélifi's appointment follows the successful development of Doughty Hanson's presence in France since the appointment of Yann Duchesne as senior principal and Doughty Hanson managing director for France, and the opening of its Paris office in January 2003. The appointment of Khélifi comes ahead of the launch of Doughty Hanson's new real estate fund, Doughty Hanson & Co European Real Estate Fund II, later this year. John Howard will lead Fund II, which will invest in real estate throughout Europe focusing on value creation through active management. Khélifi has over 15 years of experience in the French real estate market. He was previously an executive director at Goldman Sachs where he was the Whitehall Real Estate Fund representative, responsible for its real estate portfolio in France, Switzerland and Germany. Before that, he was chief operating officer of SEFIMEG, a quoted real estate investment company based in Paris.
