UI invests E136m in 2003
UI, the investment arm of Crédit Agricole, invested EUR 136m in 22 unquoted companies in 2003, down from the EUR 162m invested the previous year. An article in Les Echos outlined that growth capital deals completed by the investor represented 23% of the total sum invested while buyout transactions amounted to 50% of the total sum. In total, EUR 24.5m was drawn from the company to complete the acquisition of Fraikin and EUR 22m was invested in Eutelsat. Both transactions were carried out alongside Eurazeo, the investment house that will acquire UI shares in the coming months as a result of its merger with Rue Impériale. UI also realised divestments amounting to EUR 254m in 2003.
