Barclays Private Equity Europe
Gonzague de Blignières has been nominated co-managing director of Barclays Private Equity Europe. He will work alongside Tom Lamb and Peter Hammermann, who have respectively become UK and German managers of the group. The three chairmen have been appointed to replace the former sole chairman, Graham White, who died earlier this year. De Blignières, joined Barclays Private Equity in 1992, becoming chairman of the board of directors in 2001. He was named vice-president of AFIC in June 2004. Previously, de Blignières gained experience with Banexi, the private equity arm of Banque Nationale de Paris from 1981-1987 and at Charterhouse from 1987-1992. He began his career working at Banque Nationale de Paris from 1979-1981.Meanwhile, Guillaume Jacqueau, has been appointed as managing director of the group's Paris branch. Jacqueau joined Barclays Private Equity in 1995 and is based in the Paris office. He is an economics, business and finance graduate and holds a masters degree in finance. Prior to joining Barclays Private Equity, he gained experience in venture capital at Banexi and mezzanine finance at Euromezzanine.
