DLA Piper overhauls Paris office's tax team
DLA Piper's Paris office has hired nine lawyers, including three tax-focused partners and a corporate law partner, with a view to boosting fund structuring capabilities.
DLA Piper's previous tax team in Paris, previously exclusively focused on M&A fiscal structuring, left the team around a month ago, according to a source close to the situation. The new team will expand the firm's expertise towards the tax structuring of investment funds and real estate transactions.
The firm has hired partners Sylvie Vansteenkiste, Fanny Combourieu and Raphael Béra to lead the team. The three had previously been working at Reed Smith since the beginning of 2017, and were employed by King & Wood Mallesons prior to that. They will be assisted by five other newly hired lawyers and lawyers who worked for the firm previously.
DLA also announced it would soon welcome Benjamin Aller as a partner focusing on fund structuring. The hire comes as DLA aims to bolster its fund structuring offering in France. It intends to create collaborations with its other European and international offices, in particular in Luxembourg. Aller previously worked at MJ Hudson.
