White Star Capital hires Rothschild's Lattes
White Star Capital has appointed former Rothschild head of venture Matthieu Lattes as a partner.
Lattes will be based in the VC's newly opened Paris offices. He will work alongside colleagues Eric Martineau-Fortin, Elie Denfert-Rochereau and Nick Stocks, focusing on European investments, though he will focus on French investments specifically.
Since 2014, Lattes has been a fundraising consultant, first as a partner of Ader Finance and then at Rothschild Bank, where he headed the venture team. He advised more than 50 operations in total on behalf of European, American and Israeli clients, operating mainly in the software, retail and e-commerce sectors.
Prior to his work as a consultant, in 2010 Lattes founded Isograd, a company specialising in the certification of computer skills.
Lattes first started his career in 2004 as a banker at JP Morgan in London. He subsequently joined the corporate finance department of BNP Paribas in New York where he specialised, from 2005-2009, in the technology, media and telecoms sector, both in the EMEA and US markets.
Some of Whte Star's latest investments in France include Klaxoon in May 2018, and Meero in September 2017. In June 2018, the GP closed its second fund on $180m.
