Navigator Capital in talks for Tropicana's French plant
German GP Navigator Capital has entered exclusive talks with US-headquartered fresh juice producer Tropicana for its bottling plant.
The sale of the bottling plant was announced in late March. This offer is subject to consultation with the works council of the site and could be finalised by the end of 2018, for an effective recovery early 2019.
Founded in 2016, Navigator focuses on carve-outs and restructuring processes, acquiring majority stakes in small and mid-cap companies with negative EBIT margins or potential insolvencies. In February this year, Navigator acquired a German cast-iron car parts manufacturer, ENA Guss Albbruck.
Tropicana's French plant group, specialised in juice bottling and based in Hermes, employs 100 people, according to press reports.
Tropicana is owned by PepsiCo, a food and beverage conglomerate with a product portfolio including 22 brands. PepsiCo claims to generate more than $1bn in annual retail sales.
