Abénex eyes TCR Capital acquisition – report
French private equity firm Abénex has entered talks to acquire peer TCR Capital, according to a local press report.
The two PE houses are in talks, according to French publication Capital Finance. Abénex has denied the rumour, while TCR declined to comment, underlying official communication will be available from December, the French publication reported.
The last two funds raised by TCR are small-cap-focused France Transmission I, closed in 2012 on €30m, and lower-mid-market vehicle TCR Capital Partners III, closed on €161m in 2007. TCR Capital is led by Christian Dorleac and Paul Bertrand.
The merger would follow two recent consolidation plays in the French market: the acquisition of Ace Management by Tikehau announced last month, and the merger between Eurazeo and Idinvest in Q1 this year.
