Apax hires new healthcare partner
Marc Benatar has joined Apax France as a partner in the healthcare team.
Benatar joins from deal-by-deal investor Kharis Capital, where he spent around a year. Prior to that, he worked as a partner at investment company Dentressangle, following an eight-year stint at 3i. He worked for 3i's healthcare team first in London, then in Paris, with investments including Vedici, a French private hospitals group; and Q Holding, a US subcontractor of silicon-based components for the medical industry.
Benatar also worked for 10 years in business development at General Electric, mainly in the healthcare division. He carried out a dozen acquisitions across Europe for the group.
Apax's investment team is now composed of 32 members, including 14 partners. Healthcare is one of the key areas of focus for the firm, with the sector accounting for 18% of the GP's transactions in 2017.
