Apax France promotes five
France-based Apax Partners has announced the promotions of Aida Ben Lamine to business development director, Julien Birman, Vincent Colomb and Bérenger Mistral to directors and Blandine Cleyet-Merle to principal.
Ben Lamine joined Apax in 2013 and has been involved in a number of LBO, M&A and capital markets transactions throughout her career. She previously worked at Lehman Brothers and Nomura, with a focus on media and telecommunications transactions.
Birman started at Apax in the consumer sector team in 2014 and works on portfolio companies Cipres Assurances, Europe Snacks and Groupe Afflelou. He began his career at JP Morgan in the investment banking division as an analyst and then as an associate.
Colomb, who has also been promoted to director in the mid-market team, joined in 2014. He works in the services and healthcare sectors, and works with portfolio companies Amplitude Surical, SK FireSafety Group and Marlink. He previously worked at Morgan Stanley as an analyst and then as an associate.
Mistral, now also a director, joined Apax in the development team in 2017. He works on Apax portfolio companies Groupe JVS and Squad. He was previously an auditor at Mazars and then worked in corporate development at the Foncière des Régions Group before joining EPF Partners.
Cleyet-Merle has been promoted to principal and joined Apax in 2016 in the consumer sector team. She works on portfolio company Sandaya. Prior to Apax, she worked in the sales and trading division at Morgan Stanley, and then in the consumer goods and pharmaceuticals sector at McKinsey.
Apax is currently fundraising for its small-cap vehicle Apax Development, which was launched in 2017. The fund will take majority stakes in French companies with an enterprise value of up to €100m in the consumer, healthcare, services and TMT sectors. Funds managed and advised by Apax Partners exceed €3bn.
