France Invest appoints Dupont as managing director
French private equity trade body France Invest has appointed Alexis Dupont as managing director.
Dupont leaves his Brussels-based role as France's attaché in charge of financial services at the European Union, having taken up the position in 2017. He was responsible for protecting the country's interests in legal negotiations related to the capital markets union, financial stability and green finance.
Prior to his role at the EU, Dupont was deputy head of savings and financial markets at the French Directorate General of the Treasury (DGT), which involved work on reform projects and negotiations related to European regulations.
The appointment comes a year after the trade body elected Ardian's Dominique Gaillard as its new chair for a two-year term, on a mandate to capitalise on the Macron administration's reforms to the country's complex pension system. The hiring of Dupont is intended to support the "increasingly European dimension" of the French private equity industry, according to Gaillard.
